This was after she pleaded guilty for sharing a nude photo on Instagram while celebrating his birthday in June last year.

Handing her judgement, Christina Cann expressed discontentment with the alarming rate with which nudity has become a thing in the country’s social media space as such, the actress is being punished to serve as a disincentive to others.

Meanwhile, the head lawyer for Akuapem Poloo Mr Andrew Vortia said the appeal he has filed against the sentencing by the Accra Circuit Court has the support of the state.

This piece of information was revealed during an interview with Citi FM, Lawyer Votia said he has high hopes that the appeal will go through successful since he now has the backing of the Attorney General and other government personnel.

The Attorney General, Godfred Dame called me personally to express his support on behalf of government on an appeal that I intend filing this morning and the motion for bail pending appeal.

He says I have his support. As I head out right now, I am going to the high court to file those motions immediately

The Attorney General is of the view that the sentence was a bit harsh. So he asked if I have filed an appeal, and when I said yes, he told me that I have his backing. It is surprising to note that when the judge inquired from the prosecution what she had to say, she said the accused person is not known to the court and is a first time offender.

She told the court [Akuapem Poloo] is also a single mother, and that she prays against a custodial sentence. Those were the exact words captured by the judgement of the court. Even the prosecutor was against a custodial sentence and would have opted for a fine or a caution
