Ministry of Information in a communique after dialogue with stakeholders has issued a statement on Nana Addo directives that the military take over protection of Ghana Water Bodies
In a letter sighted by thedistin.com, it’s stated that the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa has issued an immediate order to stop all people mining on the river bodies.
According to the communique, beginning from Wednesday 28 April 2021, the Ghana Armed Forces should cease all logistics and prevent people from working on the water bodies.
This came after citizens bashed the government for allowing some section of the public to engage in illegal mining (galamsey) which is destroying the forest and water bodies.
