FixTheCountry Protest Update: Police Has No Right To Seek For Injunction Without Organiser’s Concern- Appeal Court Judge

A new update on the current protest injunction by Accra High Court has it that, Ghana Police Service has no right to seek for court injunction on a protest march

According to lawyers of FixTheCountry organisers, an Appeal Court Judge in one of its judgement has stated that police has no right to seek for an injunction on a protest without the concern of organisers.

However, a High Court granted the police an injunction to prevent Convenors from organising any protest in the country.

In an update, the convernors were seeking a review of the High Court order from the Supreme Court but the Supreme Court also doesn’t sees the urgency of the matter rather postponed the case to June 8th when the protest is expected to be held on 9 May 2021
