The Founder and leader of the Lighthouse Chapel International, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, has finally render an official apology to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II following a leaked audio of him disrespecting him

In the audio, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills was heard talking to some of his junior pastors in a meeting about things some chiefs and kings do in their country.

According to him, instead of these kings developing their community, they sleep around with ladies and do things they are not supposed to do as kings.

He went ahead to usethe Asantehene as an example and questioned his impact and legacy beyond the funerals he has organized, festive occasions he hosts yearly and how frequent he travels to have fun and cruise in luxurious cars.

This audio got a lot of people and royals and some even threatened to attack Lighthouse Chapel branches in Kumasi.

Meanwhile in a letter of apology released on Saturday, June 19, 2021 Bishop Dag Heward-Mills apologized to the Asantehene, explaining that the message was preached nearly 20 years ago but had been taken out of context for ill purposes.

I am deeply saddened that a message I shared at a conference nearly 20 years ago, has been taken out of its context and circulated by persons who have previously declared that they will maliciously cause our churches in Kumasi to be closed down

I wish to apologize to His Majesty Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II for any disrespect, insult or harm caused him or his royal court. Please accept my profound apologies for the statements I made
