First and Second Ladies under former President John Dramani Mahama are known to be receiving salaries monthly whiles in office.
Salaries of Rebbecca Akuffo-Addo and Samira Bawumia currently have been the bone of content where Ghanaians think it’s illegal to receive salary without been part of Article 71 officeholders.
Information according to the Ministry of Finance has it that, the two ladies were known to be receiving monthly salaries and allowance from the state.

However, this information was unknown until issues concerning Mrs Rebecca Akuffo-Addo and Mrs Samira Bawumia’s monthly salary popped up.
According to the Ministry of Finance, by the end of 2016, the first and second ladies under John Mahama’s administration were taken not less than Ghc20,000 monthly as salary and allowance.
This has raised a lot of issues, making Rebbeca Akuffo decide to refund all the allowances that have been paid her back to the state
