Youth of some communities in Kwahu West in the Eastern Region has vowed never to stop galamsey if the government refused to provide jobs for them.
Galamseyers in some communities in Kwahu West have called on the government to provide them with jobs in order to stop the illegal mining activities in the community.

Illegal mining (galamsey) has contributed to the destruction of water bodies and forest in the community hence affecting the future of the community.
The Galamsey has led to the lost of life of some youth in the community yet some of them are still unwilling to stop the illegal mining activities and looks for a different job in community.
In an interview with some youth in galamsey communities, they are not ready to stop the illegal mining activities to contribute to the fight against galamsey but rather will continued to undertake the activities until the government provides job in the community to help the youth take care of their families
