The woman Benjamin was cheating on his first wife with was Fleur Cates, his second wife. In 1981, Netanyahu married Cates, and she converted to Judaism. After moving with Netanyahu to Israel, Cates sued for divorce in 1988.

Who is Sarah Netanyahu?

Sarah Netanyahu is an Israeli educational psychologist best known as the third and current wife of Benjamin Netanyahu.

Sara (whose real name is Sara Ben-Artzi) was born on 5 November 1958, in Kiryat Tiv’on, Israel to Shmuel Ben-Artzi, and Hava Ben-Artzi. This puts her current age at 64.

Shmuel Ben-Artzi, her father, was an Israeli Jewish educator, author, poet, and biblical scholar who was born in Poland and passed away in 2011 at the age of 96.

Chava, her mother, was a sixth-generation native of Jerusalem. Her three brothers, Matanya Ben-Artzi, a professor of mathematics, Hagai Ben-Artzi, a professor of Bible and Jewish thought, and Amatzia Ben-Artzi, an entrepreneur in technology, are all champions of the Israel Bible Contest.

At Tel Aviv University, Netanyahu earned a BA in psychology in 1984, and she earned a master’s degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1996.

At the Dr. Erika Landau-led Institute for Promoting Youth Creativity and Excellence and a Ministry of Labor rehabilitation facility, Netanyahu served as a psycho-technical evaluator of gifted children. She was a flight attendant for El Al as well.

Sara Netanyahu has been a subject of controversies in the past.

The media has covered Sara Netanyahu extensively, frequently in a derogatory manner and with an emphasis on strained relationships.

She prevailed in libel suits against Schocken Publishers for falsely defaming her and the local newspaper Kol Ha’ir in 2002 after two untrue reports about her appeared in the paper’s gossip column.

She spent a significant amount of money on luxuries while visiting London with her husband for a public diplomacy campaign during the 2006 Lebanon War, according to a 2008 report by Channel 10

In response, Netanyahu sued the channel for libel. Her husband was informed by the Knesset’s Ethics Committee that her trip had not been approved.

The Netanyahu family housekeeper filed a lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu in a labor court in January 2010 alleging wage withholding, unfair working conditions, and verbal abuse.

As of March 2014, Netanyahu was being sued for alleged abuse by a different caregiver and former family bodyguard.

Meni Naftali, who claimed that Sara Netanyahu had created a hostile work environment, was granted NIS 170,000 in damages by the Jerusalem Labor Court in February 2016. She then appealed, but it was denied by the National Labor Court.

When the Prime Minister’s Office already had a cook on staff, reports surfaced in 2015 claiming she had ordered catered meals and charged the government nearly $100,000 for the costs.

In 2016, the police recommended charging her. On September 8, 2017, Avichai Mandelblit, Israel’s attorney general, declared that Netanyahu would be charged with improperly ordering meals at the state’s expense.

The pre-indictment hearing was held on January 17, 2018. Mandelblit met with Netanyahu’s attorneys, breaking with tradition by declining to attend.

The trial date was set for July 19 after attempts to reach a plea agreement failed. The meals were allegedly ordered by an assistant for visiting dignitaries, according to Netanyahu’s legal team.
