What was Annabelle Ham’s cause of death?

Young YouTuber Annabelle Ham died on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Annabelle’s family posted a message to her Instagram page, shedding more light on the tragic situation on July 18, 2023.

“This is Annabelle’s family,” the post began. “We’re writing this with heavy, heavy hearts. Annabelle experienced an epileptic event and has gone on to the gates of heaven. She struggled with this for a long time and wanted to raise awareness for it, which we will do in honor of her.”

The family’s statement continued: “Annabelle was beautiful and inspiring and lived life to the fullest. Everyone she met was inspired by her energy and the light inside her soul that shined so bright. She was, and will forever be, so so loved. We’re asking for your prayers of peace for her family and friends during this difficult time, and to allow all of us the chance to grieve and work through this as a family.”

The statement concluded with a request that folks refrain from spreading rumors about Annabelle’s passing: “Please don’t post or spread speculation or details that are unfounded. There will be a time to share more details and to go deeper into her life. Her accounts will be used to share what she went through and the joys she brought to all of us. Unnecessary comments only serve to hurt us all, this is a time for remembrance and mourning. Thank you.”

The rumors that initially circulated online suggested that Annabelle had been in a car accident. There were also rumors that her death was related to a social media post from Alabama police on July 15 about “a missing person who was last seen walking on the pier at the end of Molokai Lane, located in Fairhope.” The message went on to read that officials “located [the] deceased” and “are currently investigating,” while “no foul play” was suspected at the time.

That same day, Annabelle’s sister had posted to Facebook (per the Daily Mail): “‘My sister is missing. We have her phone. She might have fallen off pier.”

Annabelle had reportedly been at a bachelorette party in Fairhope when she was reported missing.

She was a student at Kennesaw State University in Georgia and her death was first communicated by her woman’s fraternity, Alpha Omicron Pi, Beta Zeda, in a statement they shared on Facebook.

“Annabelle lived a vibrant life, brought smiles into every situation, and was cherished by all who knew her. Our sisterhood is completely heartbroken for the Ham family and for a beautiful life tragically cut short,” Alpha Omicron Pi shared on Facebook on Monday.

Ham’s older sister, Alexandria, described how her sudden death has left her family heartbroken.

“There will never be words for how heartbroken my family and I are. Annabelle was such a light to the world. A spark-plug. If you knew Annabelle, you loved her and loved being around her. She loved others so well too. Please keep my family in your prayers,” Alexandria shared in an Instagram post.

Ham’s friend, Mackensie Mintz, paid tribute to her friend, sharing a series of photos of them together: “I needed a little to process but I still can’t even believe I am making this post right now.

“Annabelle, I’m gonna miss you so much. there was no one more full of life and more joyful than you. I don’t know why God called you home so soon but I trust He has a plan.

“I’ll miss the Facetime catch-ups, your country accent, and the way you always made me laugh and smile.

“You were ALWAYS there for anyone – a true light. we will keep your memory alive down here. I love you so much miss Annabelle ham, keep dancing up there until we can join you again.”

Friend Claire Stanjevich wrote: “Annabelle, thank you for being one of the sweetest and most uplifting people I have ever met, thank you for randomly calling me one afternoon to do lipsync with you and getting me out of my comfort zone.

“I would’ve never done it without you, im so blessed to have known the amazing person you were and spent all those nights practicing with you that I’ll never forget, I love you.”
