Inga Swenson was an American by nationality and was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 29, 1932.
She was born to Geneva Pauline Seeger (mother) and Axel Carl Richard “A.C.R.” Swenson (father). Her father died in a car accident when she was 15.
She was not an only child to her parents as she had two older siblings.
Swenson graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1950. While attending OCHS as a junior, Swenson won the state title in the National Forensic League’s speech contest and later won the NFL’s national contest. As a high school senior, she was considered the school’s best vocalist and she was also the president of the Central High Players. She studied drama at Northwestern University under Alvina Krause, among others, and was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority.
Her career in the entertainment industry spans close to 50 years from 1949 to 1998.

Lowell Harris was an actor and a sound engineer. He is the longtime partner of the late actress Inga Swenson.
Lowell was born on 20 January 1932.
As an actor, he’s known for China Beach (1988), ER (1994), and Black Sheep Squadron (1976).
He won several awards including Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Mixing – Drama Series and had nominations for Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Mixing – Drama Series.

Before her death, Inga Swenson was a mother of two sons but faced a tragic loss when one of her children passed. The names of her kids are Mark Harris and James Harris. She had all her kids with one man, her husband, Lowell Harris.
In 1987, at age 26, Swenson and Lowell’s second child, James, died in a motorcycle accident.
As for their first child, Mark, he is alive and is currently a film editor who worked on Blues Brothers 2000 and Digging to China.
