British politician Michael Gove has been married once in his entire life. Despite being single at the moment, he was previously married to Sarah Vine, a famous journalist.

Gove and Sarah were both journalists working at The Times when they first met in 1998. While Vine was arts editor, Gove was was comment editor.

They then became friends and later, the co-workers’ friendship grew romantically as they tied the knot in October 2001.

The couple were together for 21 years. They lived peacefully and prevailed over all the adversities that marriage brings and even became parents.

However, their marriage couldn’t stand as they both announced their decision to separate. They released a joint statement on July 2021 that read: “Michael and Sarah have agreed to separate and they are in the process of finalising their divorce.” In January 2022, a divorce was granted on the grounds of Gove’s unreasonable behaviour.

Who is Beatrice Gove?

Beatrice Gove is a celebrity kid and the daughter and first child of politician Michael Gove and his ex-wife Sarah Vine, British columnist.

Beatrice, 20, is an internet celebrity and an influencer. Back in 2020, during Covid-19, when she was 17, she frequently shared snaps on TikTok where she kept her followers updated on her life during the crisis.

She would share videos and captioned it: ‘My family won’t even talk to me now because I have all the corona symptoms,’ while another read: ‘Can’t even smoke my weed because my cough is so bad’. Yet it seems that Michael Gove and his wife, Daily Mail columnist Sarah Vine, were not impressed – all of the teenager’s videos are since been wiped from her profile.

In February 2020, Vine described Beatrice as ‘funny, feisty’ and ‘when it comes to the state of her bedroom… a total and utter savage.’ She elaborated: ‘Bea — or Beast as we call her, for obvious reasons — has always been pathologically messy’, relating her impressive ‘capacity for chaos’: ‘graffiti on her walls, the stains on her carpet, the clutter of make-up and the tsunami of clothes’.

What happened to Michael Gove’s son?

TheSun reports that Michael Gove’s son suffered a terrifying ordeal trapped by a taxi driver demanding cash.

William Gove, 18, was locked inside the Uber in Croatia in the early hours after refusing to give the man an extra €60.

His mother Sarah Vine, ex-wife of the Tory Cabinet minister, said she was forced to transfer money to his account to secure his release.

Ms Vine said she was woken by a call at 2.30am on Wednesday.

She wrote in her newspaper column: “It was my son, on holiday in Croatia. He was in an Uber returning to the flat he was sharing with friends — but the driver was demanding an extra €60, which, as a teenager on a budget, he didn’t have. When my son refused, the driver yelled at him in Croatian, locked the doors and drove past my son’s flat to another part of town. By now, trapped in a car with an angry Croat demanding money with menaces, my terrified son called me for help.”

After several frantic conversations, Ms Vine said she was able to transfer the money.

She wrote: “My son was shaken, but safe. Neither of us could wait for him to come home.”
