American professional footballer, Alex Collins, has been reported dead at the age of 28.

Alex Collins attended South Plantation High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he was a letterman in football, basketball and track.

He was named Broward County Player of the Year as a junior after rushing for 1,786 yards. 

As a senior, he rushed for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns despite missing three games due to injury, helping South Plantation to nine wins, the district title and a berth in the 8A state playoffs.

The sad incident of Alex Collins’ death occurred on the 13th of August 2023 after the former Baltimore Ravens player was involved in a motorcycle accident.

According to reports by Dailymail.com, Alex Collins collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban SUV on Sunday night whiles riding his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident.

Per reports by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office says Collins crashed into the rear passenger side of the SUV and went through the window, coming to rest inside the car.

The American professional footballer was just a few days away from celebrating his 29th birthday on 26th August 2023.

NFL team Baltimore Ravens took their social media to mourn their former player, Alex Collins. In their statement, they indicated how sad they were to hear about the death of their former player.

According to his former team, Alex was a kind person who carried joy and passion wherever he went.

Baltimore Ravens statement; “With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Alex Collins. Always quick to greet everyone with a smile, he was a genuinely kind person who carried a special joy and passion wherever he went. May Alex always be remembered for the light and love he brought to so many people in his life.”

Alex Collins played for Baltimore Ravens from 2017-2018. In the 2016 NFL Draft, he was selected by Seatle Seahawks.

Seattle Seahawks also took to her Instagram page to mourn their former player, Alex Collins. They wrote, “Absolutely heartbroken, Prayers are with the Collins family.”

Seattle Seahawks also shared an official statement from the family of Alex Collins. The statement reads;

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Alex Collins this morning. Alex was cherished by his family and friends as well as supporters from all around the world. All Who truly know him can attest to his drive, determination and larger-than-life-personality. We kindly request your thoughts and prayers for our family during this difficult time.”

“We ask for privacy as we navigate our grief. We will provide updates regarding funeral arrangements as they are available.”

Also, the NFL tweeted a brief statement that reads; “The NFL family mourns the loss of Alex Collins and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, teammates and loved ones.
