According to him, Bray’s heart condition got worse after he had contracted COVID-19. He added that the former WWE Champion was recovering well but unfortunately, he had a heart attack and passed away.
“I was given permission to reveal that earlier this year Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) got COVID that exacerbated a heart issues. There was a lot of positive progress towards a return and his recovery. Unfortunately today he suffered a heart attack and passed away,” Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com tweeted
WWE’s head of creative, Paul Triple H was the one who announced the unfortunate news in a tweet. He said that he received a call about the tragic demise of Bray Watt.
He consoled the family for their loss and asked that the family’s privacy be respected in such a sad time.
He said, “Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today.”
“Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time,” he added.
He left behind his fiancée, former WWE ring announcer JoJo Offerman, their two children and two children from a previous relationship.
