Dr. George Tyndall was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, his lawyer said. He was aged 74.

While there are investigations ongoing about his passing, Tyndall’s attorney, Leonard Levine, told the Associated Press that there is no evidence of foul play or suicide.

“I’m not happy that he died,” Audry Nafziger, a former patient of Tyndall who accused him of inappropriately touching her, told the Los Angeles Times. “I wanted to see him convicted for what he did.”

Following his death, many want to know more about his personal life. Like, who he was married to and how many children he had. Here’s what we know.

What did George Tyndall do?

Tyndall had pleaded not guilty for the crimes that allegedly occurred between 2009 and 2015 at the college’s student health center.

He was accused of photographing patients’ genitals, touching women inappropriately during pelvic exams, and other forceful behavior.

Tyndall, who was out on bail, was expected to appear in court later this month to set a date for his trial.

He faced up to 64 years in prison if convicted.

Hundreds of women came forward to report their sexual assault claims to police, but some cases fell outside the 10-year statute of limitation.

Other claims failed to meet the criteria for prosecution due to a lack of evidence.

The University of Southern California agreed to a $1.1 billion settlement with more than 700 women who sued the college, holding it accountable for Tyndall’s actions.

Tyndall wasn’t suspended from the university until 2016 and quietly resigned the following year with a large payout.

He turned over his medical license in September 2019.

“From the very beginning, Dr. Tyndall had adamantly denied every one of the charges against him,” Levine told the Associated Press.

“All he ever wanted was his day in court, which he was confident would end in his complete exoneration.

“Now, neither he nor his accusers will get that, and that is very unfortunate for everyone involved.”
