Taylor Swift’s improbable relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs has been made public in the midst of her developing romance with Travis Kelce.
Coach Andy Reid of the Missouri-based NFL team said on Tuesday that he is acquainted with Scott Swift, the father of the Grammy-winning artist.
“I knew her from Philadelphia. Her dad was a big NFL fan,” the former Philadelphia Eagles coach revealed on Outkick’s most recent “The Five Spot” episode.
Reid, 65, joked that he had “set Kelce up” with Taylor: “So I had met her when she was real young, and her dad.”
The 33-year-old singer was described by the speaker as a “good girl” who had recently been “into” watching games.
Reid said, “We’re happy she’s here.
Another “invisible string” connecting Taylor and Kelce, 34, is the fact that one of her Eras Tour dancers, Kameron “Kam” Saunders, has a relative who played for the Chiefs in the past.
Athlete Khalen Saunders is the performer’s younger brother.
While playing defensive lineman for the Chiefs from 2019 to 2023, Khalen won two Super Bowls with Kelce, who is now a member of the New Orleans Saints.

“How much u wanna bet this is how she got Travis’ number,” one fan wrote via Twitter of the connection amid speculation over who was the “mastermind” behind Taylor and Kelce dating.
Fox Sports commentator Erin Andrews has taken credit for the relationship due to her and “Calm Down” podcast co-host Charissa Thompson encouraging Taylor to consider the “Catching Kelce” alum after he tried — and failed — to give her his phone number at a show.
“[Taylor], I know we’re not the best of friends, we’re not even friends, but I consider you one. Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy,” Andrews, 45, said in a September episode.

Taylor and Kelce have been making headlines all month, with the pop star attending three out of four of the Chiefs’ latest games — but they hard-launched their romance over the weekend in New York City.
Not only did the duo step out hand in hand on both Saturday and Sunday, but they were spotted “kissing throughout the night” at a “Saturday Night Live” afterparty.
“Travis and Taylor seemed to really be enjoying the night and each other,” an eyewitness told Page Six of their PDA.
Fans have since pointed out that the songwriter’s signature red lipstick appeared smudged on their way into the party, while Kelce’s mouth had a slightly reddish hue, hinting at a secret makeout session.
