Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse have been dating on and off since July 2018, but it’s mostly been under the radar — or, perhaps, more accurately, right under our noses.
The British pair are tight-lipped about their private life together and, according to Pattinson, that’s by choice.
“If you let people in, it devalues what love is,” the Batman actor told The Sunday Times in April 2019. “If a stranger on the street asked you about your relationship, you’d think it extremely rude. If you put up a wall it ends up better.”
However, the two have become more comfortable with sharing insight into their romance. “I’m shocked that I’m so happy with someone for nearly five years,” Waterhouse told The Sunday Times in a February 2023 profile. “I had two days off the other day, and it was like, no question I’m going back to see him,” she said. “Then he’ll come out for a couple of days. I’m always incredibly excited when I see his name pop up [on my phone] or even a text, and I think he feels the same about me. We’ve always got so much to say, and I find him hilarious.”
Both Pattinson and Waterhouse have been linked to other stars in the past. Pattinson previosuly dated Twilight costar Kristen Stewart, musician FKA twigs and Sean Penn and Robin Wright’s daughter, Dylan Penn, while Waterhouse was with Bradley Cooper from 2013 to 2015.

Waterhouse slammed HBO Max’s Gossip Girl reboot for a joke about her relationship with Pattinson. “When are you going to get it? As far as the press is concerned, he’s R-Patz and you’re Suki Nobody,” one character said.

During an interview with GQ, Pattinson recalled the time Waterhouse discussed his role in The Batman with the man who came to fix his boiler. Though superhero movies are notoriously secretive, his girlfriend couldn’t stop divulging details of his role to the handyman.
“I’m sitting there facing the other direction, and my girlfriend just keeps continuing the conversation with him,” he shared in February 2022, noting how funny the situation was for him. “And I’m looking at her, like, ‘Shut the f–k up. Why are you doing this to me?’ She was very entertaining. Just talking to an obsessive fan.”
Pattinson later revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that Waterhouse cried while watching him in The Batman, which made him incredibly happy. “It was really her reaction that kind of changed the entire thing [for me], because I’m pretty sure she’s not normally into watching superhero movies,” he told the host on February 16. “And just seeing that it was capturing her attention the entire time and then she held my hand and touched it [to her face] and I could feel a little tear. And I was like, ‘No way!’”

“I mean, it’s kind of cheesy — if you’re in love with someone, their smell becomes very particular to you,” he gushed to the outlet, seemingly referring to Waterhouse. “So yeah, [mine would be] something like ‘Girlfriend in a dressing gown.’”

The twosome couldn’t take their eyes off each other when they made their Met Gala debut as a couple.
“Rob is Suki’s greatest fan and he’s so happy for her success,” a source exclusively told Us, noting that Pattinson is “also a big fan of Daisy Jones [& The Six],” in which Waterhouse plays Karen Sirko.
The couple “enjoy being creative as a team” and have written “short stories” and “possible scripts,” the insider said.
While Waterhouse “brings out his adventurous side a little,” the duo ultimately “love being at home” as they are “very laid back,” the source told Us.
