What happened to 85-year-old Yocheved Lifshitz? The 85-year-old grandmum shares how she was treated by Hamas terrorists after being released.

The war between Israel and the Hamas terrorists is still ongoing. However, good news reported shows that two hostages were released late Monday.

Yocheved Lifshitz is one of the hostages that was released by Hamas. The 85-year-old was kidnapped on 7th October 2023.

She was dragged away on a motorbike tied with her legs on one side and her head on the other. She described her stay there as hell.

The 85-year-old grandmother shared what transpired during the two weeks of being a hostage with Hamas.

What happened to Yocheved Lifshitz?

Speaking to Reuters, Yocheved Lifshitz described her two-week hostage period with Hamas as a nightmare she cannot forget.

She added that she continues having flashback images of her staying in the tunnel where she was kept with other hostages.

Yocheved Lifshitz said, “I went through a nightmare we couldn’t have imagined. I constantly have the images of what happened repeating in my mind.”

“They didn’t break my ribs, but it hurt me a lot in that area, making it difficult to breathe. They stole my watch and jewellery.”

According to her, she slept on mattresses on the floor close to other captives. She added that they were given pitta bread, hard cheese, low-fat cream cheese and cucumber which was the only food they ate.

She added that her experience was hell. However, Yocheved Lifshitz indicated that despite the many hardships they were treated well.

According to her, doctors visited her and other captives every two to three days.

Where is Yocheved Lifshitz now?

The 85-year-old grandmother has thankfully reunited with her family after being freed by Hamas.

Before joining her family, she was sent to the hospital to receive treatment after surviving two weeks of torture from Hamas.

Her daughter Sharone was super excited to see her mother back to her. According to her, she can now hold her mother’s hand and kiss her cheek.

“She is very sharp and is very keen to share the information, pass on the information to families of other hostages she was with,” she told about her mother

Sharone further pleaded with Hamas to release her father as well and hopefully other captives. She hoped that her father is also being treated well and taken good care as her mother was treated.

Yocheved Lifshitz was released along with Nurit Cooper, 79. Both were airlifted to the hospital to receive treatment.

The release of the two women brings the total number of freed hostages to four after an American woman and her teen daughter were released on October 20.
