Iconic Friends star Matthew Perry, 54, who was best known for his portrayal of Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom, Friends, has died after an apparent drowning.
Perry was reportedly found dead in a jacuzzi in his Los Angeles, California, home, according to TMZ.
The veteran actor has previously opened up about his struggles with addiction. The outlet reports that no drugs were found at the scene.

Was Matthew Perry ever married and who is his wife?
For 54 years on earth, Perry never married during his life. Hence, he had no legal wife or spouse.
He was, however, engaged to literary manager Molly Hurwitz in 2020. The two began dating in 2018. However, they called off their engagement in 2021.
“Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them,” Perry said at the time of their split.
“I wish Molly the best,” he said.
Before his engagement to Molly, he was linked to Mean Girls actress Lizzy Caplan.

Who has Matthew Perry dated?
While Matthew Perry never got married, he was in several relationships with famous women; including actresses and models.
During his career, Perry dated a number of stars including, Julia Roberts.
When he was 18 years old, Perry dated late star Carrie Fisher’s half-sister, Tricia Fisher. The two broke up but reconnected later when he was filming Friends. However, the two called it quits later.
Perry had a brief fling with Goop founder, Gwyneth Paltrow, in 1994 before the hit series Friends premiered.
In 1996 when Perry was becoming a high-profile star, he dated Roberts. The two met while shooting a Friends episode. She was a guest star on the show. They dated for a few months before Perry called it off.
As People notes, Perry spoke of his previous relationship with Veep producer Gabrielle Allan in his 2022 memoir titled Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.
He revealed that she was a “friend for life” and that the pair had dated when he was 21 years old.
After meeting in 1994, Perry dated the late Jamie Tarses for a number of years and described her as “the most magical, beautiful, and smart” woman in his memoir.
From 2003 to 2005, the actor dated former fashion student Rachel Dunn, referring to her as “the ex-girlfriend of his dream” in his memoir.
Perry had a relationship with Natasha Wagner — the daughter of Natalie Wood and Richard Gregson — describing her as “beautiful, smart, caring and sexy.”
He was “set up” with actress Cameron Diaz, not long after her 2007 split from singer Justin Timberlake, but it seems that the pair were only briefly involved.
He went on to date actress Lizzy Caplan for six years before they called off the relationship in 2012.

Tributes have been pouring in for the late actor. Actress Paget Brewster, who played Chandler’s girlfriend Kathy in season four of Friends, said his legacy will live on through his laughter.
She wrote on X: “He was lovely to me on Friends and every time I saw him in the decades after. Please read his book. It was his legacy to help. He won’t rest in peace though. He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there.”
The company that produced the TV show Friends, Warner Bros, has paid tribute to the star.
The company said: “We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. “He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans.”
Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has paid tribute to the late Matthew Perry. “Rest in peace,” she wrote, followed by “heart broken. Unbelievable.”
Hollywood star Selma Blair posted a photograph of the two of them on Instagram following the tragic news. “My oldest boy friend. All of us loved Matthew Perry, and I did especially. Every day. I loved him unconditionally. And he me. And I’m broken. Broken hearted. Sweet dreams Matty. Sweet dreams,” she wrote.
The actor Wendell Pierce, who starred alongside Perry in the remake of The Odd Couple, wrote: “Damn. For two years Matthew Perry was my boss, my colleague, and a giving, kind, funny man. I pray and hope he is at peace.”
Perry’s fans took to social media to pay tribute to the actor’s sudden death.
“rest in peace to the man who played one of my favorite characters of all time. matthew perry was able to put a smile on my face when no one else could and i’ll remember his impact he had on me and his legacy forever,” a tweet read.
“This one hurts a lot rest in peace Matthe Perry you’ll always be our chandler bing,” another tweet read.
At the time of this writing, it does not appear as though Perry’s co-stars have commented on his passing.
