British’s renowned media personality Jimmy Savile was accused of sexually abusing children and patients but was he ever married and did he have any kids?

Jimmy Savile made a name for himself as the host of BBC shows such as “Jim’ll Fix It” (1975–1994) and “Top of The Pops” (1964–1984). Jimmy released the single “Ahab the Arab” in 1962, and he published the books “As it Happens” (1974) and “God’ll Fix It” (1979).

Jimmy Savile was made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (1972), a Knight Bachelor (1990), and a Knight Commander of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of Saint Gregory the Great (1990).

The sexual predator passed away on October 29, 2011, aged 84 – two days before his 85th birthday. His death came after he had been in hospital with pneumonia, but sadly before his sick crimes fully came to light.

A year after his passing, the world finally learned that the DJ and TV personality was a monster.

While a lot has been documented about the late DJ, many want to know more about his love and private life.

Here’s what we know about his personal life, like, who he was married to, the women he dated, and whether he had any kids.

Who was Jimmy Savile married to? He had an inseparable relationship with his mother,  Agnes Monica Savile

The media personality was a lifelong bachelor; nothing about his love life was made public.

He was believed to have never been officially married, hence, he had no legal wife or spouse. Also, he was not in any relationship, thus, he had no girlfriend or partner.

Agnes Monica Savile, who the sexual predator called ‘The Duchess’, was described by her son in a previously unpublished 2011 interview with the Sunday People as the “only true love” of his life, calling her “the only woman I ever loved”.

Agnes was a devout Catholic who gave birth to seven children, the youngest of whom was Savile. He was born in Leeds in 1926.

In an article for The Guardian, author Dan Davies (portrayed by Mark Stanley in the BBC drama), who wrote In Plain Sight: The Life and Lies of Jimmy Savile, said: “Agnes Savile exerted an extraordinary hold over her seventh and youngest child… he described himself as ‘a not-again child’, because he was unplanned and, very possibly, unloved.

“His mother’s approval was of enormous significance to Savile, in life and, I believe, well beyond her death in 1972.”

As her son’s career took off and his pockets deepened, Savile bought Agnes a flat in Scarborough, which he shared with her until she died, 16 years after he purchased the property.

In his interview with Louis Theroux for the BBC, he said he wouldn’t bring women to the flat out of “respect” to his mother.

Savile spent five days with her body, which was housed in an open casket. He described that period as “the best five days” of his life (via The Independent).

“Once upon a time I had to share her with other people,” he explained (via Channel 4 News). “We had marvellous times. When she was dead she was all mine, for me.”

In The Reckoning, Agnes is not only unimpressed by the direction her son’s career initially takes – she approved of his knighthood and appearance on Songs of Praise – she’s also troubled by him, confiding in a priest that she sees a “darkness” within her son.

In another interview just three months before he died (but only published by the Sunday People in 2016) Savile seemed to imply his mother had been suspicious of him. He said: “My mother never got round to being proud. If anyone said, ‘What is Jimmy like?’ she would say, ‘I don’t know what he’s up to, but he’s up to something’. She never trusted me as she thought I was going to get nicked and end up in the pokey.”

Did Jimmy Savile have any children?

There isn’t a confirmed report about the late media personality’s kids since he was known to have never had a serious relationship.

However, according to Gossip Next Door, several people came forward claiming to be Jimmy’s children — one of whom is a woman named Georgina Ray. Allegedly, she was a secret daughter he found out about in his later years. She publicly stated she while she had no interest in inheriting his fortune, she was still pursuing a DNA test to prove that she was indeed his daughter.

Georgina later called Jimmy a “monster” because of his crimes and revealed she no longer wants to be considered his daughter.

What was Jimmy Savile’s cause of death?

According to The Tab, Jimmy passed away in 2011 two days before reaching his 85th birthday. Pneumonia was listed as his cause of death, with no suspicious activity or foul play mentioned. He spent time in the hospital battling his pneumonia for a short time before returning home and succumbing to the illness.

Just one year after Jimmy’s death, hundreds of allegations of child sex abuse and rape came to light.

In 2009, he was questioned about his involvement in a sex crime, but he was able to avoid facing legal action. As of now, it’s believed that there have been over 500 reports of abuse against Jimmy. He’s now considered one of the most prolific sex offenders to come from the UK.

He was considered an eccentric man when he was alive, with platinum-colored hair, huge cigars in his mouth, and oversized jewelry.

He tried to cultivate a welcoming and friendly image to ease any discomfort from others. Because he was so savvy and always hiding behind his likable public persona, many people didn’t realize what a danger he was.
