Who was Terry Venables married to?

Former England manager Terry Venables was married twice in his life.

The names of his current and ex-wife are Yvette Bazire Venables and Christine McCann.

He had his first marriage at age 23. Terry Venables and Christine McCann tied the knot in 1966 and remained as a couple for 18 years. At the time, he was playing for Chelsea.

Terry and McCan were childhood friends whose friendship grew into a romance. They met when they were both 16 years old. However, their marriage was not meant to stay as they divorced amicably in 1984.

Before their separation, they were parents of two daughters.

That same year after his separation from his first wife, he met and found love in a woman named Yvette Bazire.

At age 48, he tied the knot with Yvette, his second and current wife in 1991. Around the time he moved to Barcelona as a manager.

Who is Christine McCann, Terry Venables’ ex-wife?

Christine McCann was the first spouse of legendary football manager Terry Venables.

At the time of their marriage in 1966, Christine McCann was a dressmaker.

In his autobiography, Terry wrote that they had met when they were 16 years old and got married while he was playing at Chelsea, his first club.

They had “drifted apart”, and his move to Barcelona as a manager in 1984 precipitated their divorce.

The split was “as amicable as possible”.

Who is Yvette Bazire, Terry Venables’ wife?

In the same year of Terry’s separation from his first wife, he began a new relationship with his second wife, Yvette Bazire, whom he had met in his dad’s pub in Chingford, London.

Who are Terry Venables’ children?

Among all of Terry Venables’ achievements, being a father will be his ultimate blessing.

Former England manager Terry “El Tel” Venables had two children – all daughters – whose names are Tracey Graham and Nancy.

He shared his children with his first wife, Christine McCann in their close to two decades of marriage.

According to a 2014 interview with the Guardian, Venables and McCann welcomed their daughters in the late 60s – early 70s.

While little is known about Terry’s kids, his daughter Tracey, appears to have followed her father into the football industry.

In 1987, Terry took up a post managing Tottenham Hotspur, before being appointed chief executive in 1991.

In 1993, Terry was dismissed from his post, and it was reported at the time that Tracey Venables, was also sacked from her job as National Membership Secretary at the club.

Tracey, 23 at the time, had apparently worked at Spurs for over a year.

It was reported at the time that Terry’s daughter Tracey appeared at the Spurs North London grounds gates and announced: “I’ve just this minute been sacked. I’m very angry. I had no idea this was going to happen.”

His other daughter is called Nancy, but little is known about what she does for a living.

Terry also has at least one grandson, Sam, who he mentioned in his 2014 autobiography, Born to Manage.

What did Terry Venables say about his children? Terry seemed to keep his private life private and rarely mentioned his children or family in public.

In his 2014 autobiography, he mentions the stress that his glittering football career had on his family.

After being appointed Barcelona manager in 1984, he recalled that the move culminated at the end of his marriage to his first wife, but that both parents “wanted to ensure that our two daughters understood they still had loving parents”.

The family seems close, as Terry makes references to family holidays in Majorca.
