The pair met in 2008 while on the set of Doctor Who episode The Doctor’s Daughter.
David told Jonathan Ross he presented the ring as a hilarious Christmas present.
In January 2011, The happy couple got engaged and then tied the knot on December 30, 2011.
At the time of their marriage, David was 40 years old and Georgia was 27.
The following day the pair celebrated their big day in style with a New Year’s Eve reception at London’s Globe Theatre.
A friend said: “David and Georgia are madly in love. They have tried to keep everything quiet and the wedding is for family and closest friends only.”

He added: “It was a very particular set of circumstances.”
“Also, we’ve discovered we enjoy working together.
“Doing Staged, when we were effectively filming ourselves and directing ourselves, staging the whole thing, we discovered we quite like it.
“It’s quite fun, so we’re quite happy to do that increasingly… It just made sense.”

He said: “We’ve been together a long time, we’ve got a billion kids. We’re more of a robust structure, so I don’t think we were quite so nervous as we once were.”
Speaking of his relationship with Georgia, he told the publication: “We’ve always been – and I don’t apologise for this – quite overprotective of our family bubble, which comes from having our relationship scrutinised very early on and wanting to keep all that to ourselves.
“But we’ve been together for a long time and maybe we’re more confident about that now. We recently did our first photoshoot as a couple, which was very peculiar.”

So far, two of David and Georgia’s kids, Ty and Olive, are pursuing the careers of their parents.
In an interview with Radio Times, David reacted. He said;
“Well, it is undeniably the family businesses. Georgia’s parents were both in it and my kids have grown up surrounded by it. You can’t deny them if they’re desperate to do it, but while we help them where we can, we certainly don’t encourage it – we would love them to be doctors and lawyers!
“Your heart’s in your mouth when you think, ‘What if they can’t do it? What if they turn up and it’s all a bit embarrassing?’ It’s a great relief when you realise they’re good because, while having parents in the industry might initially get you in a door, if you can’t do it after that, it ain’t going to happen.
“That’s as it should be. This is an oversubscribed industry and you’ve got to earn your place.”
