Ghanaians weigh the Competentness of Charlotte Osei, former Electoral Commission of Ghana’s chairperson and Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, the current EC boss.
Mrs. Charlotte Kesson-Smith Osei, is a Ghanaian lawyer and served as the former chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana from 2015 until she was dismissed in June 2018 on grounds of financial malfeasance.
During her tenure of office, she declared current president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the Ghana’s president in keenly contested election in 2016.
However, many assumed her declaration as flawed especially the members and the fanatics of the party the results did not go in favor of them.
The incumbent EC boss, Mrs Jean Mensa Adukwei on 9 December, 2020 served her first job as she declared the 2020 general elections which took place on Monday, 7 December, 2020.
During the declaration day, President Akufo-Addo secured the seat to rule the country for additional four years and it was announced by Mrs Jean Mensa.
However, the opposition party, NDC, have expressed Mrs. Jean Mensa as the worse EC boss ever because they see her results as inaccurate, full of flaws and discredited.
On the night of the declaration, Mrs. Jean Mensa greeted Ghanaians, the media and the officials and highly recognised personalities who were seated in the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) a ‘Good Afternoon’ instead of ‘Good Evening’ or ‘Good Morning’ and this has triggered many speculations that the declaration was prerecorded.
Well, a well compiled 2016 declaration of the presidential results by Charlotte Osei and a 2020 announcement of the result by Mrs. Jean Mensa has been compiled in one video.
