The 2020 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama asks for Election Petition to be adjourned by the Supreme Court, Kevin Ekow Taylor, Ghanaians react.
The issues surrounding the 2020 general elections is not yet resolved as the NDC continues to accuse the EC of conducting a flawed elections.
After a series of interviews, press conferences and protests, John Mahama stormed the Supreme Court praying the results to be annulled and the EC compelled to conduct a second election between himself and NPP’s Nana Akuffo Addo.
The Court on Tuesday quashed some 12 interrogatories from the Petitioner’s Legal Team on grounds that the Petitioner failed to convince the court on the relevance of the questions.

The Court on January 20, 2021 ordered that the Lawyers of the Petitioner files it’s witness statement by close to Thursday, January 21, 2021. This was initially objected by Mahama’s Lead Counsel, Tsatsu Tsikata indicating they are not superhumans to present the statement in a day.
A while ago, information trickling in has caused massive uproar on social media as Ghanaians have shared mixed reactions over it.
JoyNews reports has it the Lawyers of Mr. Mahama has filed another application. The leader and flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress and Petitioner of the President’s elections, Ex-President John Dramani Mahama has called on the Supreme Court to put all the proceedings relating the petition to a halt.
The Lawyers is demanding that the proceedings be put on hold till it determines the application for a review of their decision on their dismissed interrogatories.

This follows after Tsatsu Tsikata notified the Court of an application for review of the courts ruling on their interrogatories. According to reliable sources, Mahama’s legal team is keen on challenging the Court’s ruling on the interlocutrices.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have taken to social media to share their opinions about the development. Ghanaian based American investigative Journalist, Kelvin Ekow Taylor also noted in a comment that the decision will hurt no one because the President has not yet got any work done.
