TikTok content creator Mahek Bukhari alongside her mother Ansreen and another woman were found guilty of the murder Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijazuddin.
Social media influencer Mahek Bukhari and her mother Ansreen Bukhari have been found guilty of murdering two men who died when their car was rammed off the road.
Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin, both 21, died when the car “split in two” near Leicester in February 2022.
Ansreen, Mahek and friend Natasha Akhtar were arrested on Friday, February 11, 2022.
The TikTok influencer sobbed in the dock following a trial at Leicester Crown Court in August 2023, following being proven guilty.
Who is Mahek Bukhari?
Mahek Bukhari is a social media personality, a YouTuber, and a fashion model.
She gained fame on TikTok and is better known the short-form video platform as @MaybVlogs where she boasts more than 130,000 followers with 3.3 million likes.
She had a growing Instagram account of same handle as well. As of the time of this article, her followers on IG is 38.4K.
Mahek Bukhari is 23 years of age and was born in 1999, in Stoke-on-Trent, in Staffordshire.
Her parents are Ansreen Bukhari (mother) and Ali Raza (father). While her father is a private businessman, the influencer’s mother was quite famous.
Ansreen Bukhari, 45, who works as a managing director at a security firm, mostly featured in her daughter’s TikTok videos.
Mahek regularly shares snippets of her life, including her outfits, make-up and handbags, and also creates videos alongside her mum Ansreen.
It’s unsure to say if Mahek has any siblings.

What did Mahek Bukhari do?
Per reports, Mahek Bukhari’s mom, Ansreen was in a relationship with 21-year-old Saqib Hussain even though she was still married to the influencer’s father.
Saqib had been having sexual affairs with Ansreen “appeared to be in love” with her during the three year affair. He even had sex tapes they had recorded during some of their romantic moments.
He had even showered Ansreen, who he called “Anzy”, with gifts and dates costing a total of around £3,000.
But, by January 2022, the married mum want to end the relationship, however “increasingly obsessive” Saqib would not accept it was over.
As a result, he “took to attempting to blackmail Ansreen” by threatening to send their sex tapes to her husband.
On January 4, Mahek sent her mum a message which read: “I’ll get him jumped by guys and he won’t know what day it is.”
The TikTok influencer also messaged her mum’s ex-lover, telling him: “I am sorry that this year you’ll be gone, Saqib.”
She and her mum hatched a plot to “silence” Saqib with her mum by luring him in with the offer of getting his £3,000 back.
On February 10, he was driven by “completely innocent” friend Hashim to collect the cash from Leicester.
Shortly after, Saqib made a heartbreaking 999 call in the minutes leading up to the crash.
He said: “I’m being followed by two vehicles and they’re trying to block me in. I can’t get to a police station – I need help right now.
“There’s guys following me. They’ve got balaclavas on.
“They’re trying to ram me off the road. They’re trying to kill me – I’m going to die.”
After giving his name to the operator, Saqib then begs: “They’re hitting into the back of the car very fast.
“Please, I’m begging you, I’m going to die.”
He can then be heard screaming before the clip cuts off.
Moments later, the Skoda Fabia the friends were travelling in smashed into a tree on a central reservation and “split in two”. The horror smash happened on the A46 near Six Hills junction in Leicestershire at around 1.30am.
Police said a grey Audi TT and a blue Seat Leon were also travelling “at speed” in the area at the time of the collision.
What happened to Mahek Bukhari and her mother?
Shortly after the crash that took the lives of Saqib and his friend Hashim, officers attended the Bukhari family home in Stoke-On-Trent to arrest the pair the mother and her daughter.
According to The Sun, the 23-year-old TikTok star, her mother, Ansreen Bukhari, and another woman, Natasha Akhtar, faced murder charges in 2022 when they incident happened.
Police officials told the outlet that the men’s vehicle “left the carriageway and smashed through a central reservation.” As a result, the car “ripped into two pieces,” killing the two men instantly.
“The investigation is in the very early stages and work is being carried out to ascertain the circumstances of the collision and what happened in the minutes before,” Detective Chief Inspector Tony Yarwood shared. “Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw three cars traveling in the area of Troon Way or Abbey Lane at around 1:25 a.m., and on the A46 between the Thurmaston Shopping Center and the Hobby Horse Island.”
Chief Inspector Tony continued, “The cars — a silver Skoda Fabia, a gray Audi TT, and a blue Seat Leon — were travelling at speed and work is being carried out to work out the routes taken. We are working to piece together the movements of all the cars involved and any footage of them will help our investigation.”
The three women appeared in court via a video and only spoke to confirm their names and verify if they understood the seriousness of the charges they’re facing.
“You face the most serious charge known to criminal law … Do you know that?” Judge Timothy Spencer QC asked the women, to which they each replied, “Yes.”
The outlet shares that no request for bail was made and that the trio will remain in custody until a plea hearing on March 18, 2022.
Additionally, two men — Raees Jamal and Rekan Karwan — were also charged with murder in connection to the crash. Both men were set to appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, and they are currently being held in custody.
Where is Mahek Bukhari and Ansreen now?
Ansreen Bukhari and Mahek Bukhari denied two counts of murder and two alternate counts of manslaughter.
After 28 hours of jury deliberation at Leicester Crown Court, Mahek and Ansreen were found guilty of murder.
They faced a retrial alongside six others after jurors previously failed to reach verdicts at their original trial.
Jurors were told the devastating smash was “no ordinary traffic accident” but a “story of love, obsession, extortion and, ultimately, cold-blooded murder”.
Fellow defendants Rekhan Karwan and Raees Jamal were also today found guilty of two counts of murder.
Natasha Akhtar, Ameer Jamal and Sanaf Gulamustafa were all found not guilty of murder, but guilty of two counts of manslaughter.
Mohammed Patel was found not guilty of murder or manslaughter.
