Michael Gove (real name: Graeme Andrew Logan) was born on August 26, 1967, in Aberdeen, United Kingdom.

His parents are Ernest Gove and Christine Gove. His father, Ernest, ran a fish processing business and his mother, Christine, was a lab assistant at the University of Aberdeen, before working at the Aberdeen School for the Deaf.

He had an adoptive sister named Angela Christine.

Growing up, he attended Sunnybank Primary School and Kittybrewster Primary School. Later, attended Robert Gordon’s College. From 1985 to 1988 he read English at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford.

For his career than spans over decades, Michael Gove reportedly has an estimated net worth of $5 million. He accrued his fortune for his works as a British politician, author, journalist, as well as other endeavors.

Michael Gove has served as Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and Minister for Intergovernmental Relations since 2021. 

He has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Surrey Heath since 2005. A member of the Conservative Party, he has served in various Cabinet positions under Prime Ministers David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak.

Gove has twice run to become Leader of the Conservative Party, in 2016 and 2019, finishing in third place on both occasions.

Who is Michael Gove’s wife?

Michael Gove has been married once in his entire life. Despite being single at the moment, he was previously married to Sarah Vine, a famous journalist.

Gove and Sarah were both journalists working at The Times when they first met in 1998. While Vine was arts editor, Gove was was comment editor.

They then became friends and later, the co-workers’ friendship grew romantically as they tied the knot in October 2001.

The couple were together for 21 years. They lived peacefully and prevailed over all the adversities that marriage brings and even became parents.

However, their marriage couldn’t stand as they both announced their decision to separate. They released a joint statement on July 2021 that read: “Michael and Sarah have agreed to separate and they are in the process of finalising their divorce.” In January 2022, a divorce was granted on the grounds of Gove’s unreasonable behaviour.

Before their separation, they had two children, a daughter and a son.
