She was abused severally during her childhood
On top of all of the other hardships she had to deal with when she was younger, Chrisean was also the victim of abuse. During an interview with a local Fox News station in Baltimore, Chrisean shared that she was “choked out” and “beat on” during her childhood.
Her father was in prison for the majority of her childhood, while her mother struggled with battling a drug addiction, causing her to become homeless from age 9 to age 18.
In fact, she didn’t even meet him until she was 7 years old. As a result, Chrisean wasn’t able to have a smooth and stress-free childhood. Despite that fact, Chrisean still has love for her parents.
The popular singer had a challenging life growing up with her siblings. Chrisean Rock’s family lived in a one-bedroom apartment and at some point became homeless.
Fortunately, she was able to lean on some of her siblings when things were difficult.
Before fame, Chrisean Rock was an athlete
She used to be fast rising collegiate track and field sprinter back in the days even though things weren’t easy for Chrisean when she was younger.
The track was something she could always turn to. Malone began running track when she was around 10 or 11 years old, later having the opportunity to become a Division I athlete. Her track coaches proved to be some of the most instrumental people in her life. Chrisean’s impressive track skills brought her all the way to Santa Monica College in California.
Sometimes opportunities come when you least expect them, and that’s exactly what happened to Chrisean when she found out she had been cast for the competition game show Ultimate Tag which airs on Fox. Not only did she compete, but she took home the $10,000 prize.
A clip from her sprinting days recently surfaced online and it got fans reacting. “Boys will really take you off track if you let them,” someone commented on the clip, referencing Chrisean Rock’s shenanigans with Blue.
