What happened to Alice Rose McShera?

McShera was found dead in a room at a Perth Crown Towers hotel on the morning of Monday, October 30.

Police have said she was found with head injuries that they believe were caused by a blunt instrument.

A man named Cameron John Pearson, 42 was found in the same hotel room as McShera with “serious, self-inflicted injuries”.

Pearson has since appeared in a Perth court charged with McShera’s murder.

Security staff checked on the hotel room where McShera was found after receiving a call from a family member.

Inspector Geoff DeSanges told reporters outside court on October 31: “A family member who was seeking to get hold of one of the people in that room had spoken to Crown Towers. We’re still to identify the full circumstances of the relationship, and what brought about the events of yesterday”.

He added: “There appears to have been a passage of time between the woman being injured and police being called to the hotel”.

The night before her body was found, McShera posted a final social media post where she documented her stay at the Crown Towers hotel.

She uploaded a photo to her Facebook page of a picture of Dom Perignon champagne and told her friends on the social media site that she was “spending the night before [her] next surgery at Crown Towns, drinking Dom, watching old DVDs and loving life”.

In the post, she thanked her “bestie” for the hotel stay.

Though she didn’t name who she was talking about she did refer to the person as “Lawyer of the Year”.

Where is Cameron John Pearson now?

Cameron John Pearson, 42, who was found with self-inflicted injuries in the same hotel room where Ms McShera’s body was also found, faces court over alleged murder of lawyer Alice McShera in Crown Towers hotel room.

Mr Pearson made a brief appearance in the Perth Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

When asked by the magistrate whether he understood the charge of murder against him, the accused murderer told the court he did not understand the murder charge against him, he then shook his head, according to Australia’s ABC News.

The matter was adjourned, with Mr Pearson next due to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on November 29.

Ms McShera was Cameron John Pearson’s girlfriend. The duo reportedly met after she took him on as a client through her work as a family barrister at a boutique law firm. They struck up a relationship in January, 9News reported
