Family Court barrister Alice Rose McShera’s boyfriend Cameron John Pearson is charged with her murder. Did the lawyer have any children?

The body of 34-year-old family law barrister Alice Rose McShera was found at Crown Towers Perth, in Burswood, on Monday morning October 30, 2023, dead from injuries allegedly inflicted with a blunt instrument. 

The family of a top barrister had made a desperate call to the five-star hotel where she spent her final night, urging staff to make contact with her.

Her lifeless and tortured body was found in her room after the hotel authorities checked in and they communicated the news to her family.

Following her death, Cameron John Pearson, her boyfriend who is 8 years older than her, was arrested and charged with her murder.

And now, many want to details about her personal life. Here’s what we know about her boyfriend and whether she had any children.

Who is Alice Rose McShera’s boyfriend Cameron John Pearson?

Cameron John Pearson (born between 1980 and 1981) has been revealed as late family barrister, Alice Rose McShera’s boyfriend.

He resides in Bibra Lake and a reportedly a father of one.

The duo reportedly met after she took him on as a client through her work as a family barrister at a boutique law firm. They struck up a relationship in January, 9News reported

What Mr. John Pearson does for a living and details about his family, origin, educational background, and more are undisclosed.

It is not known whether Ms McShera and Pearson had any relationship troubles, the man is accused of her murder.

Pearson was allegedly found in the hotel room by police and had suffered what are believed to be self-inflicted injuries.

He was taken to hospital before making his court appearance and will await his next appearance in Stirling Magistrates Court on November 22 while remanded in custody. 

The small courtroom was packed on Tuesday with media and emotional family members and supporters of both Pearson and Ms McShera.

About half a dozen members of Perth’s legal fraternity sat in the public gallery showing obvious distress. 

Per DailyMail, Pearson was not required to enter a plea and twice refused to acknowledge that he understood the charge despite speaking with his lawyer Reid Hogan during the proceedings.

He instead shrugged his shoulders in answer to Magistrate Stephen Butcher’s questions before being led out of the glass-walled defendants’ dock. 

Hellokorean also suggests Alice might have dated a man named David James Park before meeting John Pearson.

While there are no further details about their romance, the publication adds that in 2018, Park shared a photo of Alice Mcshera’s birthday and expressed his happiness to be celebrating her 30th birthday with her.

Did Alice Rose McShera have any children?

Family law barrister Alice Rose McShera was not known to be a mother, hence, she is believed to have no kids.

Following her death, and while details have started being unveiled in court proceedings, there have been no confirmed reports about her having welcomed a son or a daughter.

Since Pearson was her partner and believed to have a daughter, Ms McShera was then serving as a mother figure for his kid.

Who was Alice Rose McShera and what happened to her?

Alice Rose McShera (born between 1988 and 1989) was an attorney from Australia.

She worked out of Murray Chambers in Perth’s CBD as a family law specialist.

She had more than 10 years of experience as an advocate and barrister and was a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Western Australia and the Law Society of Western Australia.

She has also appeared in the WA Supreme Court of and Magistrates Court and previously worked as an associate to a WA Family Court judge. 

As per her LinkedIn page, she graduated with a master’s degree in law from the Australian National University in 2015. 

McShera was diagnosed with bipolar psychological disorder in 2021 after disappearing for 12 hours while on holiday, 9News reported. 

The barrister reportedly died as a result of homicide in October 2023. She was 34 years old at the time of her death.

McShera was found dead in a room at a Perth Crown Towers hotel on the morning of Monday, October 30. Police have said she was found with head injuries that they believe were caused by a blunt instrument.

Security staff checked on the hotel room where McShera was found after receiving a call from a family member.

According to Australian news outlets, McShera’s former employer Murray Chambers described her as a “much loved colleague and friend”.

They said in a statement: “Alice was an experienced and very capable advocate who has been an integral part of the Murray Chambers family. The profession will be the poorer for her loss. We feel keenly for Alice’s family and friends at this time.”

Another of McShera’s former employers, Keegan Family Lawyers, also paid tribute to her following her death.

On its Facebook page, the company posted: “Alice – you were a strong woman, a powerful woman, an amazing barrister and lawyer. You fought for those who couldn’t fight for themselves. You were a friend, a colleague, and someone to aspire to”.

The statement continued: “I cannot believe you have been taken from us. I am so sorry your life has been cut short…Our community will mourn your loss.  You will be so missed”.

 Her father said she was a ‘beautiful, much-loved girl who will be deeply missed’.
